February 2nd, 2010 NHL Pick

New Jersey @ Toronto
Toronto has mad some huge trade moves this week bringing in Dion Phaneuf and Sebastine Giguere. The Devils have been shaky lately and are looking to rebound from a loss against LA where they allowed a late goal by the Kings, and lost the lead and the game. Giguere will be the starting goalie the rest of the way for the Maple Leafs but has been bad this season and the Ducks lost 9 of the last 10 with Giguere in net. New Jersey's Broduer is an impressive 22-11-1 as a favorite this year and typically plays well in the first game of a road trip of three or more games. The Leafs worked on practice with a total of 7 new players on Monday and will likely have the early skate to go over anything before game time Tuesday. I cant expect much gelling from the new Leaf team yet but look for New Jersey to put forth a good road game and live up to the favorite status in this match-up.

  1. Toronto win 3-0. I hated laying off this but obviously glad I did! Looking into Buffalo, and St Louis for tomorrow.
